This unique concert brings together traditional Scottish and Greek music, classical music, and poetry readings to mark two hundred years since the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821. It forms the culmination of the University’s many initiatives exploring Scottish–Hellenic connections in this bicentenary year, celebrating the opening of the new exhibition ‘Edina/Athena: The Greek Revolution and the Athens of the North, 1821–2021‘ and welcoming delegates of the 12th Biennial Leventis Conference. St Cecilia’s Hall, established in 1763 and Scotland’s oldest purpose-built concert hall, offers an elegant backdrop to the concert.
